Mission
Statement
Lexington Chinese School, a non-profit
organization, is committed to serve the Lexington community by providing
an encouraging and unique environment in learning Chinese language,
culture, and heritages. While English is the most widely used language
globally, Chinese is the most spoken language in the world. Between
these two languages lies an enormous gap that separates western and
eastern cultures and forms a daunting barrier for communications and
understanding. It is this gap that we seek to help bridge.

On Monday, May 12, a devastating earthquake, measuring 7.9 on the Richter scale, jolted southwestern China's Sichuan Province. The quake destroyed many buildings in the area, as well as infrastructure like communication towers. Officials announced the final death toll could reach 50,000.
The Lexington Chinese School organizied the following activities to help the Earthquake victims.
1. Silent auction, including jewelry, raffle baskets, Chinese arts & crafts, children activities, food sale, & more. It was scheduled May 24, 2008, Saturday, 11:00 - 1:00 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church's Fellowship Hall (3100 Tates Creek Rd). All proceeds were sent to the Chinese Consulate General in New York on 5/30. We really appreciate all the supports we got from our students, parents and friends. Please find a

from the school principal.
2. Continued Donation collections at Lexington Chinese School. The entire donation will be sent to Chinese Consulate General in New York. More details, please view... or view Chinese version...
